In many ways it looks like a traditional Breitling chronograph and its design is very similar to a Chronomat - like most it showcases sophisticated lines, unique rider tab style bezel, and an attention to detail in both the aesthetic and technical realm. It is a sturdy, precise and functional chronograph - "an instrument for professionals."
The Callisto is slightly unusual, in that while most Breitling chronographs have full size dimensions, the Callisto measures a little over 36mm in diameter, making it perfect for those with less sizable wrists and 10% - 20% (or more) smaller than many other Breitling chronos.
Besides the size, the movement really makes the watch special. Powering it is Breitling's caliber 11 handwound engine, the Breitling finished version of the Lemania 1863.
It is the 12-hour version of the more well-known Caliber 12 movement, which was used in the Breitling Cosmonaute II. The Callisto uses the regular movement, whereas the Cosmonaute sports a 24-hour geared 1873 (so that the hour hand makes a full cycle in 24 hours). Those movements were used by Breitling from the 1980s, until they became unavailable in 2002.
The Lemania 1863 is the same base movement for the Omega 861, that powers many collectable Omega Speedmasters and other Omega chronographs.
This original Certified Pre-Owned Callisto presents in excellent condition. It has all its original parts.
The case is near mint with light wear and does not appear to have ever been polished. The dial is original and mint with beautiful toned original luminous that perfectly matches the hands. Its original crystal is in very good condition and still retains its anti-glare film.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
